Managing user roles
DCImanager allows administrators to flexibly configure user access rights and capabilities in the context of IT infrastructure management.
There are two key roles available in the platform:
Administrator
Has access to all product features and can manage any data center equipment.
User
Manages only the equipment that is allocated to him by the administrator. Can install OS, clean disks, connect to BMC, work with IP addresses and VLANs.
Synchronization with AD/LDAP
DCImanager supports synchronization with directory services – Active Directory (AD), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and FreeIPA. This enables centralized rights management and reduces the workload on platform administrators – when staff changes, there is no need to additionally configure access control to the platform.
Security
DCImanager supports access control lists (ACLs). The platform administrator can restrict access to DCImanager to a selected range of IP addresses by creating user groups and assigning the required IP addresses (individual addresses, ranges, subnets) to each of them.
The ability to use two-factor authentication increases the level of data security.
