In October, the interface DCImanager 6 and VMmanager 6 will change. The new design will be more convenient for working with bigger sets of data. For example, you will no longer have to open additional tabs to keep track of different elements. In addition, the tables will be able to display all the information necessary for work. This will help to solve work tasks in the platform more quickly and conveniently.
Changes in the upcoming release: the screen workspace will be enlarged
The new design adapts the working area to the size of the screen; this will significantly increase the workspace on larger monitors.
Moreover, the main menu will become vertical and move to the left. The area on the right will contain links to the platform settings and task management.
Changes in the following releases
In subsequent updates, the interface will be gradually improved further. Here is a brief overview of some of the changes.
More data will fit in the tables. Users will be able to flexibly customize their columns
In the new interface, tables will be able to hold more columns, enabling the user to select the data to be displayed. This allows you to have all the information you need for your work at your fingertips.
Quick filters will help find information
In the tables, the user will be able to quickly select objects by several parameters. For example, find all VM recovery tasks for the last 24 hours. The filter settings can be saved. If you review the same information every day, it will save time.
Modal windows will no longer block the screen
Previously, modal windows overlapped the interface screen. Because of this, it was not always convenient to use the platform. In the new interface, the windows will be replaced by side forms, which will open on the right of the screen. This will allow you to make the necessary settings, while still being able to view the information in the platform. You will no longer have to open multiple tabs to work.
Other changes
- The new interface will allow users to read the platform help section without going to the website with documentation;
- Users will be able to choose the method of viewing data in the table: in the form of rows or cards;
- Dashboards will become customizable - you can choose which metrics and entities to display.
How the transition to the new interface will take place
The implementation of the described changes will take place in stages. DCImanager and VMmanager with the new design will be released in October: the location of the main menu will change and the workspace of the screen will increase.
Other changes will appear in future updates.
After installation, reverting to older versions of the interface will no longer be available.
