BILLmanager 6

Processing module. VMware

Integration

Integration is configured in the process of creating a service processing module in BILLmanager.

To create a service processing module, enter IntegrationProcessing modules → click Add. The processing module adding wizard consists of the following steps:

  1. Product type: select "Virtual data-center".
  2. Processing module: select "VMware vCloud Director".
  3. Integration settings. Specify the data for integration:

    Note:
Some fields may contain entities from VMware vCloud Director. They are italic and located within brackets (<Entity from vCloud Director>)
    1. URL — the full URL address for the access to vCloud Director API.
    2. Username — the name of the account connected to vCloud Director. The account with the role of System Administrator shall be used for integration. BILLmanager will use this account to manage (create, delete, etc.) virtual data centers in VMware.
    3. Password — account password.
    4. Allocation model — the system used for resource allocation for each user VDC. There are two options:
      • Allocation Pool — each VDC can utilize the limited amount of resources. The maximum amount of each resource allowed is set up in the tariff plan.
      • Allocation VApp — each VDC utilizes as many resources as needed; limits of the tariff plan are ignored. You need to account your resources per statistics.
    5. Storage policy — Storage Policies from vCloud Director, which are used to create VDC.
    6. User role — the role of the account created inside the organization. It determines the access level for a user inside the organization created.
    7. Provider — a VDC provider in vCloud Director.
    8. Network pool name — the name for the Network Pools in vCloud Director.
    9. Network prefix — the prefix for External Networks which will be used to provide public IP addresses for VDC.
    10. For example, a VDC provider in VMware has a few networks for white IPs: "External-1010", "External-80" and "Test Network". During integration between BILLmanager and vCloud Director, the field Network prefix gets the value "External". In this case, IP addresses will be provisioned from the following networks: "External-1010" and "External-80".
    11. Network gateway — a network gateway on the organization level. The network is created automatically when a new organization is added.
    12. Network mask — a network mask on the organization level.
    13. IP address range — an IP range for virtual machines inside the network on the organization level.
    14. Primary and secondary DNS — primary and secondary DNS for the network on the organization level.
    15. DNS-suffix — DNS suffix of the network on the organization level.
  4. Processing module parameters. Configure internal (within BILLmanager) parameters of the service processing module:
    1. Data center — select the data center in BILLmanager to which the processing module will be connected.
    2. Name — specify the name of the processing module to be displayed in the BILLmanager interface.
    3. Department — select the department to which tasks from the processing module will be assigned.
    4. Sort — specify the processing module’s priority. If more than one processing module is connected to a tariff plan, the processing module with the lowest priority is selected first when creating the service.
